for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 New!
Practice ISO programming
Kenny
Cutter is back with a complete redeveloped version of IsoCourse!
IsoCourse is primarily intended for use as an introduction to CNC
programming and the ISO language. In the program the pupil is allowed to
do an amount of tests that are defined on the program disk. These tests
can be co-ordinate tests, tests for milling machines (X,Y,Z) and tests
for lathes (X,Y). The detail in the test is drawn and the pupil is asked
to type in the co-ordinates or CNC blocks that are needed to follow the
contour. The pupil is given several chances and if the pupil fails to
supply the correct answer after an amount of attempts the program shows
the correct block and the pupil may continue with the next block. In
this way the pupil gets a feel for how a CNC program is developed. All
of the pupils answers are stored in the students database and the
teacher can at a later time check the pupils results by using the
StudentData software. The pupils' motivation is heightened by being
allowed to do the tests on the computer instead of simply reading
through a book. The book is used as a complement for the program.
In IsoCourse the teacher can create new
exercises using the built-in command language where one can easily
define new contours and type in the correct CNC blocks. Tests of this
program have shown that pupils learn faster and that they can work more
independently while the process of learning is perceived as being more
"fun". The program does not require any previous knowledge of
computers.
